New book by Prof. Leszek Koczanowicz

We have the pleasure to annouce that a new book by Prof. Leszek Koczanowicz, member of our Council, has been published recently. The book is called "The Modern fear. Essays on democracy and its adversaries".

Modernity is a social and existential project, that is both tempting and disturbing. "The Modern fear. Essays on democracy and its adversaries" book shows its complexity and the contradictions that it includes.

Relations between politics and existence, ambivalence of the Enlightenment project and Marks philosophy, discomfort and the size of democracy and also the politics of experience and analysis of the magical power of art forming a complex image of modernity, where different ideologies and beliefs are merging and clashing. References to Foucalt, Agamben, Lacan, Kirsteva, Laclau, Mouffe, Habermas, Brodski, Böll, Sebald and many other artists and theoreticians help to show a thought movement that has shaped and is still shaping our world and our way of thinking.
